Abstract:

The comparative efficiency of organic and synthetic
fertilizers were studied on maize and cowpea, two staple
Nigerian crops. Chemical fertilizer did not support yield as
much as poultry manure (PM) or arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi
(AMF), individual or in a combined state. The combination of
PM and AMF was the best application expressing yield in form
of shoot productivity. Glomus clarum was a good
fertilizing candidate in this study

Keywords: Glomus clarum, maize, cowpea, fertilizers,
shoot.
